First Aid

We take every precaution to ensure your child's safety. First Aid provisions are available should your child become ill or suffer a minor injury. Our staff members are trained to administer CPR and first aid, and will contact emergency personnel as needed. Parents/guardians will be notified if a significant injury or accident occurs. Whether an injury report will be filed depends on the severity of the injury and is at the discretion of the staff person on duty and the administrator. Abundant Life School does not have a nurse on staff.

Medications

If your child is prescribed any medication, the parent/guardian must provide the medication in its original vial from the pharmacy with the prescribed dosage indicated. Our staff will administer the medication as directed by the doctor. A green medication slip needs to be filled out daily.

Emergencies

Should an emergency arise, we follow a comprehensive safety plan. Our staff are trained to carry out evacuations, lockdowns, and other procedures. We hold drills regularly to practice and update these procedures. Emergency procedures are available for your review in our building.

Illness

To prevent the spread of illness at Abundant Life School, we urge parents/guardians to keep sick children at home. If your child is sick when he/she awakens, please do not send him/her to school. We do not have a nurse's office for "sick patients." If your child becomes ill while in our care, you will be asked to arrange for immediate pick-up. We will call the people on your emergency list if you are unavailable. You child must be free of vomiting, diarrhea, and fever for at least 24 hours before returning to school.

Meals

Morning snack, hot lunch, and afternoon snack are all included in your tuition fee. Breakfast is available for an additional $0.50 a day and served from 7:30am -7:55am. Our chef provides made from scratch lunches that are not only healthy but delicious. Very few processed items are given to the children as we try to provide the most nutritious, balanced meals that are pleasing to the children.

Play Areas and Playgrounds

Abundant Life School offers mulched flooring on all playgrounds for your children to safely climb, jump, and explore. Our large indoor GYM allows for plenty of exercise when weather doesn't permit outdoor play. We have multiple items available for indoor play including: gymnastics mats, scooters, parachutes, basketballs and hoops, jump ropes, stilt walkers, and plenty of items for obstacle courses. Recess is typically held outside weather permitting. Please make sure your child has appropriate clothing to wear outside.

Sanitation

All cots and toys are sterilized every Friday in the classrooms. The lunch tables are cleaned and sanitized before and after every meal. We use a company called Enviromaster in all school restrooms. A cleaning service provides daily cleaning throughout the entirety of the building. Children and staff members participate in healthy handwashing practices.

Security

Our students' security is of vital importance. Our building provides a security system where cameras are placed in the hallways and monitored in the school offices. A personal code is given to each family so that only those enrolled are allowed in and out of the building. Any visitors are required to check in at the front office and provide ID. Only those on the pick-up cards are allowed to take the child home. This is strictly enforced. All access doors are locked and secured at all times.

Supervision

Our goal is to ensure each child is cared for, supervised, and safe. Our supervision policies and instructor to child ratio complies with state and local regulations.

Wellness

Your child's wellness is crucial to their continued learning and development. We practice sanitary habits at our center, to prevent the spread of illness.
